Hmmm... so it seems that my temperature gauge isn't working properly. Before I replaced the temperature sender for the gauge, it didn't move at all. After replacing the sender, it moves, but just to under cold and then drops back down to its' resting place...over and over and over again.
I went ahead and pulled the cluster out only to find that it has been replaced with a cluster from a 95 Ranger. I figured it was the wrong year because I also have an issue with the check engine light being in the wrong place (97 one is where "fuel cap" is on the 95 cluster) and when I turn on my hazards, the high beam light flashes dimly instead of the indicators on the cluster.
My question is, what clusters can be used? I was told that 95 is its' own thing and should have never been used and that all clusters from 96 (or 97) to 2003 will interchange with no issues. True?
