V10 Hard Start When Adding Fuel

I've got an 05 V10 that always starts perfectly, hot or cold.

But I've noticed that it takes several attempts to start only after I fuel up the tank.

No engine check lights/codes.

I have cleaned the IAC.

Anyone had this problem?

That's a new one...

Try an experiment. Does it do it after just removing the gas cap and then putting it back after a few minutes?

That's a genius idea. EVAP system test. Good going Krewat.

I read this guy's problem yesterday and was intrigued. This problem is very unusual. I'll be watching this thread.

Sounds like your canister purge valve is stuck open.As you fill your tank the
vapors are pushed into eng causing extended crank.I'm a 33 year gm driveability tech-just replaced 1 today for the same reason on a 11 buick enclave.

Now that's a great possibility. I'll look into it.

Problem only occurs when I fill the tank.
Opening the gas cap does not cause the problem.

I have noticed that there isn't pressure when I open the cap.
No hiss or anything.

That makes a lot of sense. Don't you usually get a code for that though? The 2005 V10 is OBD-II and should be monitoring EVAP stuff...

Several months into the occurrence I did throw a single code.
I don't remember the number but it pointed to the EVAP system. As I recall it wasn't very specific as to what part of the EVAP was causing the prob.
I reset it and it never came back.
