Sounds like your canister purge valve is stuck open.As you fill your tank the

Problem only occurs when I fill the tank.
Opening the gas cap does not cause the problem.
I have noticed that there isn't pressure when I open the cap.
No hiss or anything.

That makes a lot of sense. Don't you usually get a code for that though? The 2005 V10 is OBD-II and should be monitoring EVAP stuff...
Several months into the occurrence I did throw a single code.
I don't remember the number but it pointed to the EVAP system. As I recall it wasn't very specific as to what part of the EVAP was causing the prob.
I reset it and it never came back.
