Dana 44 HD Open knuckle f250 axle for an f150
I do have doubts about the mix and match components putting unequal force on the race, causing it to be more egg shaped or not concentric. Obviously this would cause things to not be lined up and held as they should be, but just how out of round would they be with mixed components? And the other thing is even if it went together, how long would it last? I think it would work, but wear prematurely.

As far as I know and I could be wrong but both your axles are HP Dana 44s so should be no problem with the pinion/drive shaft issues. You will need to cut off the old leaf spring mounts and buy some weld on radius arm mount wedges. These are available from JBG. Although they are for Dana 60s so they might have larger inside diameter. Make sure you set the pinion angle the same as the old one. There is quite a lot of information on this swapp although they mostly use Dana 60s. Remember the 250 axle has a 8 bolt pattern so you will have to get different rims for the front and carry two spares. I don't think there is a trac bar mount kit you can buy so you will need to fab your own.
Swapping over to leaf springs on a F150 is not easy due to the steering box being mounted on the outside of the frame right above where the springs would be. Google Dana 60 swaps and you will find info on this. Very similar to what you are doing. Good luck and I hope some of this helps you.

This is all correct and I agree... But how prematurely is premature? Lol. I mean... How many of us are really going to put another 200k on our trucks?
If nothing else, you'll gain alot of experience in axle swapping.

Done some axle swapping, but they've been bolt in affairs. Also gear swaps, and only had to pull one apart and redo the ring gear (thread locker got between gear and diff case causing it to warble around).
I'm going ahead with this, but it's gonna take time for me to source parts and tools (Bore Gauge for example). But, plan is to take what I can from old original bent axle and use on this f250 one. So that's: Gears, Pinion, Bearings, Steering Knuckle and Hubs, and maybe Bearing Caps. Gotta Order New: Axle Shafts, Wedges for Radius Arm, and Ball Joints. And then Booty Fab a Trackbar mount...
I remember this pickup before I got its axle at the dump. It was parked for several years pulled apart before being tossed. Not sure what they were thinking, but I understand life gets in the way of stuff. I just couldn't let this axle go to waste and grabbed it
I can't find much info on it on the interwebs, Like it's a High Pinion, Think tube 3" Diameter, extra ribbing, and AFAIK a Heavy Duty Dana 44.
A very desirable axle, so I don't wanna let it go to waste. If I booty fix the bearing caps and the bearings fail, well that's a sign things need to be fixed better

I like your attitude If you have extra caps maybe you could put some flat stock against the race surface in the case and take a measurement at it's deepest point then do the same to your cap if they match you should be round and then the sum of those 2 measurements should give you your bore when assembled .. You might even be able to assemble 2 caps together an bore them to resize if needed with shims if needed ..
