New Headlights, very dim
I bought aftermarket smoked headlights for my truck. It is an early 99 so it had the little tiny ugly lights; anyway, the ones i got are very dark. The high beams are half of what the low beams were on the stock lights. The lights didn't come with bulbs, so I had to buy new bulbs. I bought halogen lights. Are they dim because they are shaded or is something wrong? I was thinking maybe it's not meant to power halogens and it doesn't work right. Also, the high and low beams are backwards. Any help would be appreciated.

I have had similar problems with some imported headlights...the problem is in the connector wiring itself.
You have to cut all three wires on the vehicle harness and rewire them so they will match up with the new units.
If you dont want to do that or dont know how, you will most likely need to buy standard DOT headlights.
