I've taken every single bulb out and check them. All work just fine. I cleaned every connection on the back of the instrument cluster. Found that my 5A fuse was blown so I replaced it. But as soon as I pulled out the light switch it blew the fuse. So I pulled out the switch so I could inspect it. I put a larger fuse in the slot to see if I could get some sort spark or whatever somewhere so I could know where to look for a short. While doing that the coiled up spring on the light switch started glowing red, pulled the fuse right away but I think it cooked the switch. So I purchase a new switch and put back the right size fuse and it still pops the fuse as soon as I turn it on. Any ideas
99% of the time, this is caused by someone messing with the radio wiring. All of the cluster and dash light wiring is fed with a blue/red wire. Go over to the stereo and pull it out and find this wire. See if it's in good shape or has been forgotten and is jammed down in there somewhere. It was used on the old factory radio. If it's hooked up to the new radio, disconnect it if you do not have a wiring diagram for the aftermarket radio.

Bingo. I put in a radio the other day and assumed that the plug for the stock radio was one hot, one not. Boy was I wrong. Both sides have power just one comes on with the ignition and the other off the light switch. Funny thing is I tested both contacts before wiring the radio up. Oh well you live and learn. On a side note all the dash lights work great now lol
