Motor swap

I have an 85 f150 that originally had a I6 in it until it was pulled out. Has a c6 trans. I also have a 92 bronco with a 302 in it. My question is what do I have to change over when I put the 302 out the the bronco into the f150.

I believe your 85 is carbed and the 92 is going to be fuel injected. You'll have to get an intake, carb, fuel pump and fuel pump push rod for the 302 unless you go electric fuel pump. Replumb the V8 (vacuum and fuel). You'll need motor mounts. And I'm not sure , but I think the 6 cylinder C6 has a different valve body than one for a V8 truck. (different shift points). Check to make sure the 302 will even bolt up to the 6 cylinder C6!!
Unless the 300 six is non-rebuildable....I'd put that $$$ in the six, put a header and intake on it (maybe a cam) and it would be just as strong as a 302! Those 300 six's are a really good engine. Torque monsters!

Hope this helps!

Thanks Matt, I planned on keeping the Intake from the 302 anyways, but another thing in not sure about is the computer and the wiring harness

What trans does the '92 have?

Assuming an E4OD or 4R70w trans you need both engine and trans, complete wiring harness and computer, rear axle, dash gauge cluster, frame towers and engine mounts, and the complete fuel system including the tank.

If it's an AOD, C6, or manual you can transplant the engine alone with the correct flywheel for the C6, you need the engine wiring and computer, dash cluster, rear axle, frame towers and mounts, and complete fuel system including tank.

You will be looking for a long time for a 302 fuel pump push rod I assume he meant an eccentric you'll need a new timing cover for the pump to bolt to
If you go for a carburetor I can't imagine why you would need the transmission from the other truck

Chrism31....maybe I misunderstood. Are you wanting to install the 302 you have, and keep it fuel injected.......you're looking a a LOT of work like Conanski stated. IF the 302 will bolt to the six cylinder C6, you're going to have to remove the fuel injection manifold and install a 4 barrel intake. Thinking about it....I'm not sure your 302 has a fuel pump eccentric on the cam or not. (And I think a mechanical pump runs directly off the cam, so there is no fuel pump push rod.) All my 5.0 (302) experience was with fuel injected Mustangs! You'll have to get an electric fuel pump.

And I don't want to take the wind out of your sails.......but if you if you live in a state with vehicle inspections....you may be setting yourself up for trouble!!
