I just got a complete motor and trans from an 88 f-150 5.0 for use as a fuel injection swap into a Bronco II.. The motor and trans has little over 14k on them before the truck got into an accident and was parted..
Anyways, I bought the engine with trans and all the wiring and sensors, computer etc.. I had thought it was an AOD trans. As it turns out the trans is a C6.
Was the C6 ever bolted to a 302??? I am starting to think I have the 351. Cause I don't recall ever having a c6 on a 5.0 before. Is there any distinctive casting #'s I should check on the heads etc to see if it really is a 302 or 351w?
well an easy way to tell is if its fuel injected, on top of the intake manifold, it will say Ford 5.0 or 5.8 EFI, or if its a 5.0, it also might have a Ford oval with "Electronic Fuel Injection" on it. If its carburated, theres a good chance that it is a 5.8 (351W), and yes, the C6 was bolted to a 302 on some models.

Thanks guys!! I just wanted to make sure I was not smoking the crack I do have a 302. unfortunately the C6 is going bye bye, won't work in my conversion already have a buyer for it tomorrow!
Hey, on another note.. does anyone know where to find the head casting numbers? I thought they would be on the outside of the casting above the exhaust manifolds but no, only casting #'s I found is 3A3 on head next to the valves..
If that is the casting, are these equivalent to the E7 heads?
