We just picked up a 1998 29' RV that sits on a Ford with a Triton V10 with 54,000 miles. On the way home, I had the windows down and notices the left front wheel seems to be making a rhythmic 'scritch scritch scritch' noise; drive faster, the noise goes faster. The noise doesn't change pitch as the speed changes, just the frequency of the noise.
The ride is smooth, no steering wobble or bumpiness of the ride. I checked the tire for rocks; didn't feel one but I didn't check the contact patch so I guess that's still possible. I couldn't see anything rubbing on anything but haven't turned the wheel to check the interior side of the wheel.
The tires look nearly new with tons of tread.
I'm going to take it in for routine service (fluids, hoses, belts, probably check the brakes, maybe new plugs, and see about the noise) but I thought I'd check here to see if there was anything obvious I should check (or worry about).
