I have searched over and over, but I can't seem to find if anyone knows if the electrical connector on compressor clutch field coil has power to both wires, or just one of the two wires. If the latter, which one? Thanks
I really do not remember which is power. But the 6.0 the a/c clutch is on it's own fuse.
Underhood box Fuse #17 10 Amp. The controls are on a seperate circuit.
Underdash box # 23 20 amp.
Thanks, I already knew that the clutch was on its own fuse (#10 - 10amp under the dash) and relay (under the hood). I was wondering because I wanted to check to see if I was even getting power to the clutch since it wasn't engaging like it should, either because the R134A was too low or the solenoid was shot on the clutch. I ended up pulling the relay, then jumped it to see which one was "hot", which was the top one by the latch on the connection, plugged the connector back onto the compressor and realized that the solenoid was malfunctioning which means a whole new compressor. Thanks again for the words of wisdom.
