King Ranch front bench doable?

Hi,

I have a 2005 F350 King Ranch...and the wife suggested that perhaps we could install a bench seat in the front. I have seen online plenty of buckets to bench swaps and viceversa, but the wife (and myself) want to keep the KR leather in the front as well (she is not very fond of a seat/bench cover)

Any ideas who much it would cost to have bench seat wrapped in KR leather and installed? and any shops that can make the leather covers?

I assume that procuring the bench should not be difficult (with headed seats if possible), but wrapping in the diff leather could be $1K plus.

I looked at Leatherseats.Com when I was considering changing over to leather. Your looking at between 900 and 1200 dollars I think, depending on the options. And that would replace front and back so that you knew colors would match. And that wouldn't count having a local upholstery shop do the install. And you can use car-parts.com to see if you can find the bench seat from a wreck or something. Ebay is another option.

Did you check eBay for a KR front bench? They may have one cheaper than recovering.

Why go with a full bench? Why not buy a center seat that is in 80% of our trucks and have it recovered to match? That way you retain your factory options but also have the back of the seat that flips down so you still have a console when the seat is not needed. Seems it would be allot less expense and hassle. And could easily be undone if you were ever to sell the truck. I'm not sure if the KR was ever offered with the front center seat or not. I think I've only seen consoles.

Seems like a lot of work. A few years ago I had new front leather put in my 67 Cougar. The shop did an excellent job of matching up the colors. The material was about $1,600 & the install was about $600. I'm sure my car uses less material than your KR will.

I'm not sure what your end goal is but the center seat idea sounds like a great choice. I did a quick check on eBay, for about $350 you can have just about every color of seat.

here's an example.
