Hi, I'm new to the forum, but I have been driving the X for several years. I learned to drive on my mom's v10, and now I have my own 7.3, which is even better than the amazing v10.
I absolutely love my X (a 2000 XLT 4x4 7.3L named Hank) and plan to keep him forever. However, although the engine, drive train, tranny, interior, etc. are all in pretty great condition, the body is dinged up and rusting away. I am looking into buying a cheap stripped or wrecked X for parts. The worst parts needing replacement are the doors, which are rusted horribly.
My question is, can I get the parts from any X, and if not, which ones would have compatible doors and body panels in case I can't find a cheap one that is the same year and edition?
Thank y'all! I've currently got my eye on a 2003 X. Since its lacking an engine and pretty much everything from the interior, I hope to get a good deal on it. Now I just need the space to park both while I work on them.
