egr head?

i have a 79 351M and it is curently set up with egr.i want to get rid of the egr and buy a new intake if i bought a new intake manifold that was made for non egr models will it work on my heads,can i make it work,or will i need to find non egr heads?
i am not worried about emmisions my 71 truck is exempt.

egr head?

The heads are not involved. The Edelbrock performer is the manifold of choice. I would get the one with EGR and simply not use it. It has a better carb mounting flange. You'll need a 4V carb, a Holley 600 (non emissions) would probably suit you.

i was kind of wanting a cleaner look and not have that bulky egr valve.

egr head?

Then just leave off the EGR valve and spacer.

With the valve disabled (i.e., not hooked up to a vacuum), it's just a spacer, and it serves to increase the plenum volume.
