2002 Excursion 173K miles on it, I just replaced the passenger side rear wheel hub seal again. First time it was weaping, last time it was a gusher, just returned home and could smell diff fluid on the rotor again.
There were some small burs on the surface which I smoothed out with emery cloth but other than that it appeared okay.
The vent tube was clear so I assume I can eliminate pressure build up blowing fluid out, it really happens when you make sharp turns.
Any thoughts, can the hub/spindle be replaced or is a new housing the only way?
I would try replacing seal again, clean everything up ( take you time) replace with new OEM seal.
I had mine replaced awhile back but didn't encounter any problems.
