Hello,
my son and I are getting ready to start painting and cleaning up the underside of his f150. Just wondering what you guys have used and what you would recommend for paint. Thanks in advance!!
I've used Rustoleum engine paints almost exclusively on my 2WD '70 (build thread linked in my sig). Their semi-gloss black has a good sheen and if it's formulated for an engine, then it's likely tough enough for an axle.
I order a case at a time from our friends at Summit Racing.
X2 on the Rustoleum.
I used Valspar semi-gloss black on the frame and Rustoleum semi-gloss black on the axles and other parts. I first sprayed two coats of Rustoleum red rusty metal primer as a base.
