How About A 7.8 V10!

Ford, Add 2 cylinders to the 6.2 and give us a 7.8 V10! Us V10 lovers want a new one.

Why not add four, then take away six and have a v6?

I would be first in line to buy a 7.8 V10 if the HP/TQ were respectable. And even do so mileage be damned.

However, I think before that ever comes about we will se some form of a 6cyl EcoBoost under the hood of the Superduty truck.

Once displacement and HP numbers get about so big, the fuel consumption needs to be measured in gallons per hour!!!!!! This is probably one big reason the diesels got going in the first place! And the technology of the day was with carbureted engines......and I can remember well fighting things like vapor lock etc. when the temperatures came up. I know, things have changed, but big displacement gasoline engines require copious amounts of fuel to make big HP and Torque, Smaller displacement, turbo'ed engines get by with a lot less fuel when not loaded up, but will still use a lot of fuel when they are loaded. So, with all that said, we probably are not going to see a big cube gas burner in the near future........but it would be fun!
