Hi All.. I recently purchased my Uncles 69 F100 he purchased new and he only used when he flew his Hot-Air balloon from the early 70's until the late 90's. I was 8 years old when my uncle purchased the F100 and my family and I have great memories riding in and driving this truck. I remember sitting on the tailgate and watching when they launched the balloon and taking part as I got older. I'm going to use the C-word here but I am a Chevy man and also own a 72 Cheyenne, but this F100 means the world to me and my family. My uncle is no longer with us but I know he would be very proud that I own the truck and I am more proud that I have the chance to take great care of it like he did. considering it has only 21,000 actual miles. Enough of the mushy stuff, I hope to gather information from the knowledge I'm sure this forum has

Wow how Cherry like a Beautiful virgin. And if she's being feed propane that's got a be one tight engine barely over being broke in.

That pretty thing is enough to make any Chevy lover turn into a new lover for a classic ford truck.

Nice! And it has a rifle rack to boot! Nice color, too.

What are your plans for it?

Thanks for the kind words and it is staying as you see it. The rifle rack supports two umbrella's and yes he ran it on propane most the time, in fact it's been sitting over 10 years and the oil is still golden brown. It needs exhaust and that will come next and the carb needs tweaked or rebuilt and I'll have the propane support equipment checked out. And it's a 360cuin three on the tree.. with the overdrive handle which I have to checkout and study a bit on.

Once I have the balloon basket and support hardware cleaned up it's all going back under the topper where it has all been most it's like.

Will the Balloon ever fly again? Is this one of
your goals? Or just bring it out for a car show
and like that. I would be scared to death to fly
in a balloon. Not much control over it. And that
is an awesome well preserved 69 F100. I also agree
to try and keep it as is. So cool that it's with family
that will care for it.

I have no plans to ever inflate it again, the balloon and # has been retired in the ballooning organization, but I live in central Illinois and in Lincoln Illinois about a hour from me there is a big Balloon festival (link below) and I have contacted them to see if I can display the truck and balloon to show the old school way ballooning/transport use to be.

Yeah that and many pictures on a poster board showing it being setup an in flight would be cool.
Flash back that's like Right out of the Twilight Zone!
