First drive!

Temporary seat to get home!

And we're off!

Last time I drove Fred on the road was the 90s!

Well, I must be nuts. At least a little.

For Fred's first run we went over 25 miles home from the body and paint man's house. Since it never happened without pictures, here are a few. Luckily there were no issues and we made it home with no drama.(or AAA!) My wife got the action shots.

Congrats on the milestone. Get a real seat installed so your earth angel can ride shotgun. Enjoy the miles!

25 miles sitting on a milk crate, man, you need a medal! Well done to you and Fred.

Fantastic! I'm sure you felt that ride with a milk crate seat.
Did you get any sleep last night. I would have been too excited to sleep.

Thanks everyone. Yes, I felt every bump but it was great! Best ride since I first bought him in 1995. No more rides though until I get the seat in.

Joe, I had a lot more trouble concentrating at work all day waiting to go pick him up!

Now I just need to relearn double-clutching......

Ah'oo'ga, Ah'oo'ga, Congratulations that first ride is way up there on the great memories list, not far behind falling in love or the best one of all watching your wife give birth to your first child. It may just be worth that waffle pattern that must be permanently grooved into your south end.

First rides are the best, mine is coming up real soon, although mine has only been down about 2 1/2 months. Congrats on a good build.
