the change out was intended to make sure the truck gets up to the full 140 amps, and while at idle it gets the batteries back to full quickly, but if you feel all is well I will leave it.

Thanks Cooper is only 6 years old, he has the typical Golden maintenance issues and possibly cancer so thats something we must deal with now...

Also took my faithful companion for a ride and he still loves it!

Only thing I need to figure out is how to get the pully swapped off the old alt to the new, any ideas or thoughts?
i noticed you did a black zip tie on your upper hose that goes around, i used a metal hose clamp. im worried it might rub a hole in it eventually.. i might put some inner tube behind the metal clamp. how long yours been like that?

Not sure, was like that when I took possession of the truck, looks like it has been that way for a while

I used a big zip tie on mine also and it's been on since summer 2011. If I was you I would put some bike tire around the metal clamp.

I used a hose clamp, figuring if the zip ties broke - I had two on it until I could get the right size clamp - the warning sign would be a cloud of steam. Where the rad hose meets the clamp and alternator brace, I wrapped the hose many many times with electrical tape to prevent the wear issue.

I generally replace hoses every 5-10 years on my cars or if they look like they will fail soon.

On the building side, I decided it is now a good time to replace the blower motor resister since my AC only works on settings 3&4

well I got the blower motor resister replaced, other one (can't seem to find it to take a picture of it) was really rusted...bad, as in it was crumbling apart in my hand...makes me wounder if theres any of it left inside the duct work...

got the new one in, the pigtail also literally crumbled in my hand, well the metal bits...one of the feet was stuck inside so I decided to cut it off and just replace it with a new Autozone brand one...not the preffered way around here I know, BUT seeing as I did not want to order an entire harness (would be the preffered way to replace every thing I can in one go) from Ford (@$$ r@ping prices) I figured this soultion would be best for now...and best part is my AC works on ALL settings now...makes me soooooo happy!! No more of this off/freeze out stuff...

It is the odd ball size of the unit that is frustrating me with it, nothing major

I am considering either switching the mustang to a mech less set up like the truck which would free the existing Kenwood for the truck but I do love not having the cd cr@p to deal with if it were to fail

Well decided that due to a possible boost/exhaust leak that appeared on the underside of the bonnet I will begin replacing the boots, already did the two that are on the top of the spider, the 3" ones, which I assume are for air intake? (corect me if im wrong here) and next will be the two that sit under the spider which look like they may already be riff raff boots (or some sort of after market type as they are red in color)

The two on the top, are they the ones that go to and from the aftercooler? Hooked to the two AL or steel pipes? And the bottom two, you say red, mine are like a burnt orange and I believe that those are OEM.

It was dark out when I did the change of the two on top so I might be off on the color, I will try and grab a picture before dark in a bit if I can
