Not sure why you'd cut and tape off the illumination wire, doesn't your new stereo need illumination?
It really doesn't sound like the radio is the cause of the battery drain if you followed everyone's wire coding above. Try disconnecting power completely from the radio and see if you still get drain.

Hey all. Ok I got it figured out. The battery I was sold was for the truck STOCK. But the PO added dual electric fast that run after truck is powered down. The battery was only 540 CCA so I took that back and got one with 650 instead. Now we are all good. Wanna thank everyone who helped out. You are gentlemen and scholars I say.
