Air Bypass Valve
Hey guys, just wonderin if any of you could tell me where the air bypass valve is on a 88 F-150 300 I6. I think it needs cleaning casue my truck keeps stalling. Want to clean this before I go any farther. Any help would be appreciated.

ok as you are standing at the hood looking at the engine, you see your air filter box, follow the two tubes that lead from the box to the throttle body, on top of the throttle body where they hoses connect sits the air bypass valve. it looks like a small cylinder with an electrical plug-in on the back of it. it is held onto the throttle body with two bolts. just remove them and the electrical connection and there you go. turn it over and look in it and you will see a small rod inside that moves back and forth. just make sure that it is clean and does not have a lot of build-up on it.
