I have a 60 f-100 the previous owner put a 390 with a 3 speed transmission in and I'm trying to get a little more info on it. Trans case says D2AR 7006 then a large AB beside both lines. Tail housing says RF-C5TR 7A040-B W2. Thanks for any information you can give.

 

3 speed manual, right?

Does it have a tin cover on top, with the shift arms sticking out of the case like so:

D2AR 7006 doesn't decode exactly according to the rather limited decoding info I have. D2.. is usually 1972. A is Full size Galaxie. R--no listing.

7006 comes up a trans related.

The other test for a 303 is a synchronized first gear. Got one?

Looks the same with a short tail housing.I was more curious what it was out of. Currently working fine but I might take a look inside and see how the gears look. Have had it hang in 3rd twice before but not sure if it was the trans arm linkage or the arm off of end of column.

Thanks, for some reason all I could find on my previous google searches there were 4 speed id charts. I'll look there was something near front on pass side but couldn't see without really getting under it and ground was wet. I'll take a look when I get home today.
