Spring Tower Question

Is there any difference in strength between the towers with the reinforcing rods welded to them and the newer ones. I am going to have to remove my towers because of corrosion between them and the frame and both of my parts trucks have the reinforcements welded on the towers where my project doesn't.

What year and series is your truck, 2WD or 4WD?

It is a 1965 2WD. Both parts trucks are also 1965 2WD. My project uses the strap bolted to the top of the tower to retain the spring and both parts trucks have a strap on the axle that limits the travel.

Spring Tower

Thanks! I may look for a pair of the C6TZ towers. Since my parts trucks apparently have the C5TZ's. There must have been something weak about them or the factory wouldn't have went to the trouble of welding a reinforcement on them.
