I have a 2001 4.2L f150. My front driver side shock has been making a lot of creaking the past few days. I looked under the hood and saw this piece sitting loose by the front drivers side wheel well. I don't know if this is what caused the creaking or if it's unrelated.
Looking up the number stamped into it I found some people saying it's an engine lift bracket and others saying it was used for shipping from the factory and should have been removed.
Anyone have any ideas? And is this a big concern that I should fix now? Thanks
