Exhaust Manifold Gaskets.
Hi there guys I have noticed my extractors, manifolds, have a leak, I've bought the new gaskets and a torque wrench as well, I've never done any work like that before and I'm just wandering if anyone can give me some tips on getting the perfect seal, ect.
Also I'm not sure what to Torque the bolts at?
Thank you very much 😀

I assume you can look at the IP address. But, Australia is what I would have guessed as there seem to be more trucks there than in other UK places, like England.
From my experience the trucks in England were taken over there by U.S. Military personnel. We lived close to a U.S. Air Force base and it wasn't unusual to see them on the road - but if that was a B road they looked huge! Anyway, the number of these trucks in England is pretty small.

Sorry boys my bad the rocker covers have 8 bolts. I'm not very experienced, I'm only 16, the truck was my grandpas who is no longer with me, he bought the truck brand new from the dealership and he has had it ever since then, I just took it up as a project recently, thanks for your help! So 8 bolts means it's a Cleveland engine or a Windsor ?
. That's the truck!

8 bolts means it's an M or a C but definitely not a W.
The M evolved from the C but I don't know that you guys had an M over there; at least, I have never heard of such a configuration on a truck built in AU. Do some homework on the differences between the M and C (and maybe the W just for the halibut).

A Windsor takes 18 - 24 ft-lbs to correctly tighten the exhaust manifold bolts, but a C/M/400 takes more that twice that: 28 - 33 ft-lbs. That's according to Ford's 1981 Light truck Shop Manual.
Here's some good reading about the C/M/400 engines: Bubba's M-Block Ford V8 Workshop.

6 bolts holding the valve covers on = W
~~
Two vertically-oriented bolts holding the fuel pump on = M or C
Two horizontally-oriented bolts holding the fuel pump on = W
~~
You need to determine if C or M
