EXHAUST TIP

I have a 2012 f-250 with the new biodesiel system and it has the split tip on the end, and the DEF cleaning system. If i change the tip will i get the loud whistle and meaty sound the old school desiels have or will i be required to change the entire exhaust system. I need to keep it emmission freindly so i can pass California standards. Please advise for best advice.

You can buy a "dpf back" pipe which will get you a nice looking tip, but won't do much, if anything for sound. To get the nice whistle you have to change out the entire system, unfortunately...

With today's new EPA standards and DEF you can't modify the exhaust. Because of the soot collector and DEF being directly connect to the PCM without it the truck won't run. I red in the book that the tips are designed to work with the emission systems on the truck and shouldn't be modified in any way. Crappy California.
