I'm sorry if there is already a thread for this but I have a 96 f150 that I want to pep up. I have a 5.0 out of a 94 mustang for donor parts. What is the best combination of parts for most power trying to keep cost down all information will be helpful thanks
Do you have the mustang PCM? That will get a more aggressive tune for nothing. Underdrive pulleys are cheap and free up some power. Free flowing intake and exhaust. Mass air meter, throttle body, bigger injectors, upper and lower intakes, heads, supercharger.
The mods available for the 5.0 are virtually limitless.
Thank you cookie88 I do have the mustang pcm. What would be the best combo of factory parts. Trying not to buy any aftermarket right now. The mustang was supposed to be built but I don't know what all was done.is there any way to tell
Not sure if there is a "best" combo of factory parts. From 87-94 they're all pretty much the same. All of the mustang parts (heads, cam, intakes, headers, throttle body, mass air meter) flow better than the F-150 parts.
I would think that most any combination of them would be an improvement over the truck parts. The heads might be the same. Not sure.
