I was thinking of using one of my 25 amp upfitters to power my RV's mini frig, which requires 110, while we are traveling so everything doesn't get warm. Has anyone ever done anything like this? I am a complete novice on wiring and power inverters. Is there a better / easier way?
Does the rv fridge not run off propane when not plugged into 120vac shore power?
Standard rv fridge will switch between 120vac and propane once 120vac is removed. Even with 120vac, the fridge still needs 12vdc.
I think I would go to an RV forum for your particular rv trailer mfg. and ask this question on running it off 120vac via an inverter.
FYI, your 7 pin trailer plug does have 12vdc for charging the trailer battery. This 12vdc might be adequate amps to operate an inverter. What year is your truck?
