Not sure what your options are on the 2wd, but check out the tech fist at the top. Under the suspension area you'll see a bunch of stuff that's proven to work.
Also check this thread out, toooons of stuff here:
I just lifted my 2wd 2000 X by installing a leveling kit and did the add a leaf in back. Raised it about 2.5" -3".. also installed the 2015 f250 platinum wheels so it gave me some height.

And you forgot the forum rule! Pictures or it didn't happen.
AH, with the 2wd front coil springs - you don't have any rubbing against the "leaf springs" with the 05+ wheels different backspacing... very interesting...
Did you have any issues getting the alignment done??

I bought the X about a year ago with 80k miles on it and shocks were almost gone. So i decided i wanted a updated but stock look. Did some research..went with the '15 20s which have different backspacing so went to fred at wheeladapters.com amd he hooked me up with the 2.5" steel adapters. Installed bilstein shocks all around and leveling kit in front and did the add a leaf on back because when i would tow my 19' boat the rear of the X would almost drag. Gotta tell you big difference now. Stiffer handling but does ride nice. Oh and alignment was a pita.. new camber kits were needed. No rubbing at all..all the way around.
