Battery cable fun

I would rather pull the intake as to do the positive battery cable. Wasn't too bad but fishing it through the cross member was not fun. So now I have new batteries, new wire, and new alternator AND will be adding a new 6.4l starter since the stud broke off on my old one. I can say it seems nice having a truck that has never been/needing worked on but when you do go into it EVERYTHING breaks.

I like the idea!!; I've always thought of myself as a comedian lol. I think the lawn mower stuff rubbed off on the truck.

Least everything will be new now
On the 6.4 starter does the year matter? 08,09?
Reason I ask is NAPA shows some of the same # for 6.0 and 6.4?
So leads me to believe what they sale are all 6.4l starters. Would think a 6.4 would work good with a 6.0 starter.

I used one off a 2010. Ultima 6675S - Starter | O'Reilly Auto Parts

The locals in east Tn used to say "he could tear up a mud fence", that comes to mind a lot in this forum.

Technically you only need a solenoid, about $35.

True but....
New going in. Apparently my old starter wasn't original and was a reduction gear as well. Probably a Napa one

Nice starter!

I saved the old starter and replaced the solenoid as I did the same as you did. The core was 27 dollars and the solenoid was not much more off ebay. So for about 50 - 60 bucks I have a spare starter on the shelf in case I need it.

This is the solenoid I bought : http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Starter-SOLENOID-Ford-F-Series-6-0-7-3-2003-2007-/330919291936?hash=item4d0c53ac20

System is up to snuff now. Full ac, lights, fog lights, and radio once gp cycle is off didn't drop below 13.3 and was at 13.8 most of the time with a few 14s in there. My old system would drop to 12.6 in traffic with all of the stuff on. Don't know if it was the alt, battery cable or batteries but it's all new now plus a starter and air deflector Now I am starting with a fresh system--whooo hooo lol.
