I was driving the other day on the interstate and the truck just shut off in traffic. After I cleaned out my pants and let the truck sit a bit, I was able to get it turned over. Had to repeat this about 10 times to get a mile back to my house. It would idle pretty, but if I gave it gas it would struggle and die. I don't have a fuel pressure tester, but at the test valve I get a weak drizzle for about a second or two with the key on.
Pulled the vac line to the FPR, no gas smell. Pulled the FPR off all together and I get the same thing with the fuel pressure: key on will get me about a second of a weak drizzle coming straight out of the line unregulated.
I put in a brand new fuel pump about 3 months ago. Key on I can hear it turning like a champ. I didn't depressurize the system when I switched the filter out and gas under a lot of pressure shot out like a champ. I can't replicate that near the rail even with the fuel pressure regulator totally disconnected.
Any ideas? This sounds like I have a clog in the line to me, but I really don't know. This truck was just perfect yesterday morning.
