If all it took to fit my F2 was shortening, I'd come and get it. Unfortunately, Utah and Michigan are a bit far apart. If I could figure a way to get it, it would be gone!
It is a little bit wider than the 8' beds also. I cant remember how much wider though, maybe 5 or 7" ??
Looks like 8" difference, I'd have guessed there'd been more. Stu
Well I guess if you are going to shorten it then narrowing it isn't that big a deal. You would just need to maintain the Ford script. I just don't know how to get it here except to drive all the way to Utah which is over 1500 miles away. I think shipping would be too expensive as well. Too bad I don't know anyone who travels east from Utah to meet me somewhere. Of course they would need to be able to carry the bed. Dreaming . . .
Well, read up a few posts. Problem is you're not at the front of the line I don't think. I've been texting with another guy that might be the buyer, and could meet me along the road to transfer it to his trailer. If that doesn't materialize we can talk. Stu

Didn't mean to cut out someone else. It just sounded like Mr. Madsen was in a hurry to get rid of it since he has had it for awhile. If Rojak can't use it on his '66, I am definitely interested in it for my '50 F2 and would like to work with you and Mr. Madsen. Let's see what happens . . .

After thinking this over a bit I think I'll find something a little better suited for my 66. I think the script flatbeds look better on the older trucks. Just my preference. I'm lucky to have had one on my 48 F3 when I bought it.

Yes, I replied. There is still another member who has from the start been swapping text messages with Josh and me about it. Logistics of hauling it, weight, side boards, etc, are the issues. He sounds serious, but if it falls through either Josh or I will bring it back up. Stu

OK, would appreciate a "heads up" via PM if it falls through from either you or Josh. Thanks!
Doug - here's the old discussion thread I mentioned in my pm. Maybe Abe still has access to it. Wish I could have saved it but logistics didn't work for me. Stu

Happy Saturday! Finally got the locally sourced flatbed on!
I had to shorten and narrow it a tad to fit inside my trailer once it was mounted.
Glad we figured that out first. It had the rust repaired, metal straightend and tail light holes covered.
Got a fresh coat of paint too.
Working on the wood work now. Any tips on that would be greatly appreciated.
Wow, that looks like a very nice bed frame. Nicer than either of mine.
Have a router to get the various thickness of the wood.
Fit all deck wood.
When making final assembly to the deck, work from the inside out. All the skid strip bolts and nuts are much easier to work when you're standing inside the frame right beside your work. Much easier than working under the truck.
