You have a tough road ahead of you. Even stock replacement parts are hard to find.
They are kind of a one off motor.....they look like a 215-223, but almost no internal parts interchange.
When I rebuilt mine about 20 years ago, parts were scarce. No speed parts are available that I know of, except intakes and headers. Stock cams don't exist, unless you can find NOS, hopefully yours can be reground to your spec
They have forged cranks and flat top pistons though.....and good sized valves.

I always thought these engines would be suited for a supercharger, that may be your best option

BTW, have you checked out fordsix.com? Lot's of six info there....

Have you found out anything as far as speed parts for this motor? All I ever found were intake and headers. BUT. I have seen that there is a 277 stoker for this motor. You bore the motor .060 over and use 292 Pistons. I can't remember exactly where I found this info

I have done extensive research on this engine and find as you have those speed parts are all that is available I understand that the crank can be offset ground to increase the stroke and use the 292 rod and piston. I hope to have a set of forged pistons made. my biggest problem is finding a 262/6 engine in the first place... I am determined to find one. it will be used in a record attempt at Bonneville

I am only the engine builder. the owners are from Oklahoma City and asked me to R and D the engine for the attempt . I'm hopping to find a donated engine for the experimental build or at least a shared interest in it .I have done extinctive computer modeling and think I can produce an engine with ???? H.P.....I cant elaborate on that at this time. but something over 1.2+ HP per CU. IN. we are still in the planning stages and looking hard for this 262 big 6 engine. HELP ANYONE ???

None of the 48-56 trucks that this forum focuses on used that engine. Are you also posting in the 57-60 and 61-66 sections?

262 I-6: Optional = 1961/64 B/C/F/N500/600 & 1963/64 F100/250.

Next to no parts are available NOS for the 262, as all are obsolete.

Yes ALBUQ F1, I am posting everywhere I can to get any info that might be out there. Thank you for your reply to my post. I know I have a very difficult job ahead of me but I'm not ready to give up just yet

Maybe what I should be asking is what could be built from the 223 engine as far as CU.IN.capability

Just curious, what class are you planning to run in? Production pickup?

Honestly, I think the 262 would be a better base for higher HP....everything is much beefier.....crank etc.

I'm sure there is one out there, maybe try posting on the HAMB?

This engine may not be on topic to this group, but we're all gear heads here and (most) can appreciate what you are trying to do.
