Hey Everyone !!!
I hope that you had a great 4th!! No fireworks here and we are thankful for that!! Super windy and very dusty today. Man I can't wait to get the heck out of here. Another day closer!!!

That is awesome, I watched a few games there a couple of years back. I watched the WSBTV live feed of the fireworks so it was a little bit of home. One more week of working and then I start getting ready to head back home. Usually do not go out on missions the last 10 days prior to heading back home.
2 attacks today in Kabul, you can see them on the news. Glad we were done and heading back to Base.

SO ARE WE!
Look forward to seeing you home safe.
Went camping on Lake Chatuge (GA/NC border) with my boys, a friend and her son and a couple of other teenagers after the 4rth madness was over. Other than excessive drama from the 15yr old girl (after minor ankle sprain), we had a great time and enjoyed the campground with maybe 30% occupancy! The lake was all ours with almost no boat traffic. It rained Sunday afternoon and nite, but Monday and today were BEAUTIFUL. Highs in the low 80's and lows in the low 60's - perfect primitive camping weather.
I'll try to post some pics later.

The boat was ready for action!

I've gotten lazy in my old age too, I like camping in the 27 ft Winnebago. It's like a hotel on wheels. I have slept on the ground in the woods WAY too many times in my military career.
Yeah, we aren't suffering here. My camp mattress is almost as comfortable as my bed at home. I grew up in Fla, I have been HOT enough to last the rest of my life - so I'm not gonna lay in bed and sweat either. With lows in the low 60's I fall asleep under a sheet and wake up to pull the sleeping bag on during the night.
I've had 30+ ft campers for years, but around here we get to go to places that have FAR less people when we tent camp. I admit, it is a LOT more work than just keeping the camper ready to roll - but that's OK for us.

We did some tent camping about 6 or 7 years ago. We enjoyed it, it was super hot and we got sunburned and there was a fire ban, but we had a good time. I lived in the motorhome a year before I deployed to Afghan, it looks like I will be staying in it again at Ft. Benning when I get back. I hope to take it to Florida one day on vacation. Buying stuff for it instead of getting some stuff I wanted for the 79.
We usually tent camp for a local music festival every may. It's always hot, muggy and a lot of fun. 2 years ago we lost a private owned piece of prime camping land that had a pond and fence, kids have been going there since they were little. I have worked so much this year we haven't had a chance to get out. Work is finally starting to slow and I changed positions in the company so hopefully that will allow us to do a bit of camping when the weather cools some. As it stands I have tickets for Barber Vintage weekend in October with a camping pass. Not the same, but still excited. We have considered checking out Weiss lake in Alabama and cartersville lake.
On a different note, anyone been to the f100 super nationals in pigeon forge? Maybe consider doing a club rally there next spring??? I'm open to suggestions

We went thru this exact process in Michigan a few years back, before we moved back to Georgia. In fact... a few subdivisions over...someone's house got burned down by a bunch of idjits and their pyro show. I will stop now, as I can find myself going on a rant...
