Just a word of warning, lift blocks on the front axle are illegal in many states. The rear is fine, but check with your local DOT or motor vehicle department and ask them before you go out and shell out some $$ for parts that will cost you a ticket.

p.s. PepBoys, AutoZone, etc used to sell universal 2" and 4" blocks for the rear.

Not only are they illegal, they are extremely dangerous. DON"T run blocks on the front.

Thanks, mrwiz. I didn't mention dangerous on the assumption that most people know why things are made illegal.

I'll rephrase,

....them before you go out and shell out some $$ for parts that will cost you a ticket.... or a life or a body part....

Correct. You need higher arced, longer springs. There are leveling kits that will get you 1" or so at most and are a helper spring for the front and some other parts.

I'd also recommend new springs in the back. Blocks are ok, but I have had one come loose on me before and it made the truck hard to handle. The rear was about 4" out one side like a puppy learning to walk. A few good bounces down a dirt road and I might have lost the block and who knows what would have happened to the truck.

If you do blocks in the back, make sure you do something to keep the u-bolts from stretching and the nuts from backing off. Maybe double nut or something.

ok ive been in your shoes blocks in the front= hell no dont do it . i have and it was bad coming around a corner one pops out truck makes a pass to the tree and boom. it was a mud truck so nothin was real lost out of it. if u real dont want to spend any money go to a spring shop ask them if they have any old spring that they are going to trash take them and stak them as high as u want to go ive seen as many as 25 springs in one pack. and for the ride it was great no thats a lie it rode like ******. so if u want to redneck it stack the spring just no blocks. or do what u know is right and buy a lift kit
