Did anybody replace the brake line that located in the left frame from about the fuel filter to the back? Do I need to drop the tank or just try to run it through ? The old line is still there, I couldn't pull it out all ....thanks
Thank you, I will just run next to it, I guess no need to start digging out the old one. I just thought I would of use the old clips if I could get to them.
100% fully agree just running new lines next to old, use the plastic coated tubing if possible---its an improvement over the bare unprotected steel stuff.
My '03 blew this same line and instead of fishing all the old out from behind the fuel tank I ran the new in one length, securing it with cable ties as already mentioned. Been over a year and all is still doing great.
We just finished doing all new brake lines on my friends 1997 F150, which has a similar gas tank I think. We pulled all of the old lines out. The thing had 2 line patches and was leaking at the rear wheel cylinder. In my opinion you should take a good look at the rest of the lines and rubber lines.
We replaced all 3 rubber soft lines and all of the hard lines with a stainless kit for inline tube for around $250.
can you get brake lines from them for a e series van? They didnt list mine
Yes Id bet on it. They did not list a 1997 F150 either for some reason, called them up and they said no problem. Great customer service, and the lines fit perfect. Days work is definitely worth 10 years + piece of mind!
