I have a 1979 150 custom with a 4 barrel carb all rebuilt 20,000km ago. The carb is quite cranky. Floods easily and if I am not soft on the throttle it stalls and same thing if I let off of the gas. It's an auto transmission and I got this truck from my father as a gift. I don't know much to anything about carbs. Is my carb just clogged up? Filters? Thanks
I moved your thread to here, you'll have a MUCH better chance getting your questions answered here than in the engine forum.
BTW I'm not sure what happened to your other thread over there (in the engine forum) I had responded to it asking for year of truck, found this one (which answered my question) then went back and deleted my question... it seems to have taken your entire thread but that's probably OK, you had two threads asking the same question...

I'd definitely start tracing vacuum lines. They are easily and cheaply replaced. And if they haven't been done since the truck was new 30 some odd years ago, even if it isn't your main cause, it should make the beast run better.

Thank you makes sense! Read lots and seems pretty simple
