I'm in the process of front floor, front cab corner and rocker panel replacement. Going well (recent post) but I have a question about where the rocker panel should line up with respect to the rear cab corners. The driver side seems to align almost square with the lower edge of the rocker panel but the passenger side rocker is well below the cab corner -
Driver side
Passenger side
Can some one take a photo of either their original cab set up or of their current cab so I can see how the running boards might interfere with the rocker panels if I leave them as they are?
These are the rocker panels on my F-2. The cab is about the best factory stock cab you'd ever find, never had any work done to it so I'm absolutely sure this is how it was done from the factory.
No, the running boards are tucked under the truck some, I'm not sure by how muck. I'm working on my daily right now, went out on my way home from work, but if I get home early enough I'll take another look and see where the boards lay. I have a F-2 but the boards should be the same as the F-1s.
John,
These are not pretty yet as I'm in the process of cleaning up and repairing my rocker panels but I think that you can see what you need. The cab is sitting on its nose/cowl.
Like Bob said the running boards fit behind the rocker panel. Mine is an F2 with short running boards but I think that the full length boards are the same as Bob indicated.
Thanks all. My biggest worry is that the passenger side and driver side were not the same but they are probably within 1/4" of each other and the angle of the running board under the rear cab corner seems to be such that the slight difference will not be noticeable.

Cheers, John
You could shim under the running board mount if it really makes a difference to you. IMHO hard to see the difference since they are on opposite sides of the truck.
