Not sure about a 2004 BUT on my 06 F250 I also want to add automatic headlight controller. On an 06 you MUST Have Keyless Entry to activate the automatic headlight controller. Just getting a new headlight switch and the photo eye assembly won't work. My 06 didn't come with factory fog lights that I'm also going to add and I figured I might as well add the factory automatic headlights since I will have to buy a new headlight switch anyway. It's going to be a lot of work because the keyless entry controller has 21 wires on it that must be spliced into the factory harness, it's NOT plug & Play! Heck, my 44 year old Cadillac Hearse has automatic headlights my 06 F250 should have them too.

I was hoping someone with an 04 would chime in and let you know for sure what all is needed.

Thanks for the info and yes it would be nice if someone with an 04 would chime in. So I can get the switch and and the photo cell to make this work, or am I simplifying this?
