I am planning on replacing my stock auto locking hubs with Warn Premiums on my 2002 F350. I have never done this and cannot seem to find any videos on here or on Youtube. Any suggestions, ideas, advice, etc? Thanks in advance!
Not a bad job at all, maybe 10 mins a side. It will probably take you longer getting the old factory ones out if they haven't been pulled in a while! If they are being stubborn just keep pulling and taping with a hammer, they will eventually surrender.
As far as installing the others. slide in the locking mechanism (the part that slides over the stub axle), attach the retaining clips, then screw on the cover. make sure to cycle them following the install, you should to be able to spin the front drive shaft by hand in the free position and the shaft will lock up in lock. A light coating of grease on the inside of the hub assembly housing can't hurt anything either.
Sometimes they can be a little loose after install, i believe rockauto has the retaining clips/rings for sale, add another set to what you have installed and they will stop wobbling around.
I personally have the Mile Marker premium ones and have been very happy with them, never had a lick of trouble, to me the silver on these matches my wheels better than the Warns, and they are cheaper.
I also replaced my center caps with some '08 as the aftermarket hubs sit back about 3/4" from the edge of the stock center caps.
