Suspension Upgrade
I have a 2007 F350 XLT 2WD that needs the suspension rebuilt. My truck currently looks a lot like the truck in the first picture (white one) and i want to rebuild the suspension but have it the height of the FX4 F350 a lot like the second picture (charcoal gray?? one) What is required in order to change the height to the FX4 height. I am not looking to do a aftermarket lift i am looking to use OEM ford parts.
Thanks
Mike
Here's my build, it's super easy to replace the 2wd coils, but you'll need something else to see any lift..

The 2wd twin I-beam doesn't allow small lifts, folks who get the 2" spring spaces OFTEN have issues getting an alignment because the ball joint and steering arm get in the way of being able to adjust the camber and caster enough - some folks have even ground down the parts to make a tad bit more room...
You really only have 2 options:
1) 4" 2WD lift kits (minimum amount to get the front end geometry correct)
2) Find a wrecked 05-07 4WD (it'll have front coil springs! vs. leafs from 00-04) and swap the transfer case and front suspension into your truck.
The 4" 2WD lift only puts you pretty close to the stock 4x4 ride height
There IS a few threads (perhaps in the Excursion forum) of doing #2 and it's on my wish list - someday, since I've got too much invested in my 2wd Excursion.
