brake issue

...sO I have been fighting the dreaded "fading pedal" issue with my 2001 ford f150. Quick story...I went to exchange the brake fluid and I started with the pass rear, and ever since then I have had a fading pedal...for 2 yrs now! I swapped the master 2 seperate times...I did my rear brake lines all the way from the abs module....Replaced the abs unit with one from a scrap yard....vacumn bled them...gravity bled them...STILL have the issue..Truck will stop with no issues if you slam on them...I brought it to ford dealer and they said theres nothing wrong with them...theyre full of it!! Question is.....does anyone know of a good reputable place to bring it to for brakes to get looked at?? everything points to the abs unit being bad, but I have a hard time beleiving that Ive had 2 of them be bad.....Im open for suggestions..
Thanks
Rich

Does your truck have drum brakes in the rear? I had similar problems with my truck, new caliper, pads, rotors, excellent bleed, truck would still not stop well. Checked out my drum brakes in the rear, found that the adjusters were frozen, put some new adjusters in (bout ten bucks) got the adjusted properly and then truck stopped like everything was brand new, as it should!
