Rear axle upgrades

I plan to use a 4 link in my 56 F100 with an engine in the 400 hp + range. I hear a lot about using explorer axles but am not sure if that is with springs or a 4 link and will they handle the hp? I prefer to use a 9 in but haven't researched any good donors for the width just yet.

What you higher hp guys using for rear suspension and axles?

Again - Thanks for the help. this is my first full suspension swap !!!

400hp to an 8.8 on street tires should hold up. I've broke a carrier in two but i think that was because of other reasons rather than hp. I'd go triangulated 4 link so you don't have to worry about axle wrap with the leaf springs.
