I haven't looked. Can you change just the T handle? Should just be a roll pin in there or something.
Someone told me that the replacement dipstick Ford sells is the kind like they use on the newer trucks (auto transmission type) instead of the flat blade traditional type.
I wish I could fix it but it doesn't "appear" to be fixable. The whole assembly goes in the tube and I don't want it to fail and pieces head into the pan.
How does the flat blade connect to the handle? That's what I was getting at. If you can get a new handle that connects the same way, and fits the same way, that would be an option.
I thought the blade was held in place with a roll pin or something. I keep meaning to look since my wife want's to switch her handle out for a billet one, and I believe you can get those for Mustang that might be compatible. Have to get around to verifying that though. It's on my list of things to do, so I'm interested to see what you come up with.
The pin connects under the plastic collar that broke. But now that I think about it how would they originally connect it under that collar. My son has the truck right now, but I will look at it more closely when he returns. It would be nice to replace just the handle. Thanks!
I attached a picture of it. Does that pin just tap out? I was wrong. The piece that broke was not around pin it was lower and gave support to the handle. Now the handle is solely held by pin and moves a lot.

Yes I believe the handle is held with the roll pin. I do not believe you can just buy a T handle. Go to the wrecking yard and get one for $5. Give you period specific part that will fix your issue. I didn't realize Ford had changed design. I do like the contrast of the oil against the white gauge, makes it easier to read.
After my water pump ate its own bearing that allowed the water pump pulley to tilt that allowed the serpentine belt to ride up on the edge of the ribbed pulleys that allowed the belt to fray so it could grab the dipstick and then rip it out and mangle it around with the remaining belt strips....I needed a new dipstick myself.
I just paid the $40 at the local dealer since I couldn't find one online that could be shipped to me like the water pump, hoses, thermostat, etc. Wasn't happy forking out the couple twenties and a fiver for tax at the dealer for a strip of metal but I got tired of searching.
That's NICE! I got a family member that has a Shelby so I will get the dipstick metal width and thickness and tube ID. Hope they are the same measurements. I know he has one that says Shelby on it.
