Hey guys. So, I want to do some upgrading on my truck. Make it a little quicker. Any suggestions on where to start, and best manufacturers to buy from.? I know I want to put a bigger turbo in, better injection system, fuel pump, transmission, new tuner and pretty much whatever else I can do to it. Its a 2006 F-250 6.0. Thanks for any responses in advance.!
I do regular maintenance on it. Oil changes, glow plugs, getting ready to do the injectors. I have an edge evolution tuner and monitor, but plan on getting and sct (hear they're a lot better) and keeping the edge for the monitor. I have not done the spring yet. What is it.?
Keep an extra $5k in reserve for when you need HG & studs if not already equipped. All the maintenance in the world won't prevent HG failure. Sounds like you are heading down that path rapidly.
You buy it to race (aka, throw $ down the toilet)?
I want more power in it though. I got it to do 13.7 second quarter miles so far (which I think is pretty impressive for my truck), but I want to be able to do at least 10 seconds.
Yes it was. But like I said, it's been awhile since I tested it. Last time I tested it was when I first got the truck, I was probably babying it then. I'll retest it once I get my injectors replaced.
I'm running close to 175k now with OEM turbo. The only thing that really was done to my truck is the exhaust, tuner, air intake, and bulletproof so far. And I think running 13.7 with it is pretty damn good considering the weight and all. I've been racing all the 'car guys' around my area lately and I haven't lost yet. I've only lost to a beefed up Duramax so far, and it was a ****ty race and I'll be going back to him once I replace my injectors to get my money back.
