Mods questions

Hi,

I have a F150 FX4 2014 and have some questions.

Right now I have stock mags and tires, 275/65R18, and I would like to put larger one, 305/65R18 and maybe 310/65R18, can those fit on the stock Mags or do I need to change them?

I also want to add a leveling kit in front (around 2") and an Airlift system on the back, I have a Trailertent 27' that weight around 8000 pounds. The airlift system that I am looking at as a maximum of 5000 pounds of load leveling capacity, would that be ok?

Thanks.

As far as tire up sizes go most tire manufacturers do supply a wheel width range recommendation ......airbags I dont know but I'd go with much higher than you "need" airbags not right at their limits

i'm not quite sure what a tenttrailer is. at 8,000 lbs, i'm picturing a hard side travel trailer, but i guess it doesn't really matter.

unless that trailer puts all 8,000 lbs on the bed of the truck, then i would think your airbags would do a great job of keeping the truck level.

i had airlift bags on my explorer and loved them. i'd recommend getting better hardware than airlift provides, however. something a little more corrosion resistant.

I haven't heard the term "mags" used in a very long time. I'd say those tires will fit on your rims, and I tried earlier today to look at the specs for that size. I'd say they might be on the wide side, so I'm thinking a 2" LK might be in order. I have Airlift bags and like them, except one has a slow leak somewhere. Not enough for me to bother searching for it currently however. Maybe when things slow down after the summer I'll find it, probably a fitting I'm thinking

I would think with a front lift the 305s would fit. 310s don't exist from what I have searched. Usually most tire manufacturers go 305 to 325, sometimes 315 but I wouldn't recommend an unusual tire size as it is not very cost prohibitive.

Also, are you looking for a good AT tire or an aggressive AT tire or even a MT? Another thing to consider is not all 305s are the same. Manufacturer actual sizes vary so it may be trial and error.

Also make sure the weight capacity of your replacement tires is sufficient to carry the weight of the truck cargo and trailer. Most TAG (bumperpull) trailer put 10% of heir weight on the tongue, So that would put your tongue weight at 800 pounds. If you load the front of the trailer heavy it will increase your tongue weight. 5000 pound capacity air bags (air lift and ride rite) are more than enough. Also make sure your drawbar and ball are rated high enough to carry the weight of the trailer
