My 93 F250 has the e4od. Every time it rains the shifting gets very erratic.
It doesn't shift when it's supposed to, I have to let off the gas in order for it to shift. The problem goes away a soon as it it dry out.
So I'm guessing it's electrical, something is getting wet. Am I correct on this?
If I spray some dielectic grease on the plug(s), connection(s) will it solve the problem? Or do I need to do more? Or do something entirely different.
Thanks in advance.
Why don't you try and look close at the connector to see if the contacts are tight or the plug is tight. Also look at the wires going into it for proper connection. I don't think the dielectric grease will hurt.
Yes you need to do more.
You need to replace the TR sensor.
Ford has an updated TR sensor to solve this common problem.
But it will take some repining.
Subford, was this a recall thing? If so, would they still do it, or is it all for me to do now?
What do you mean repining? What's al involved with this, can it be done in the truck?
Any more info will be greatly appreciated.
