Quick ? for everyone. I am in the process of putting my Dads (mine now ) 1977 f100 short bed 302
with A/C.back on the road after many years of resting in the weather. It has the factory slotted disc/dish aluminum??? or what ever they are made of wheels on it. The tires on it now are p225 x r75 x 15. I have ordered Goodyear all season P225 R70 15 100 S to put back on them. My question to all you Ford Fanatics is..... will these tires be ok for short distance (30 miles or less) driving. This is going to be a driving as I restore project truck....... Thanks to all who reply. Gene davis
Why wouldn't they be good for short distance driving. I think a better question would be are they good for long distance driving. New tires should be fine.
The 70 series tire will be a little shorter than the 75 series tire. The speedometer will read a little faster than it did before at the same "real" speed with 75 series tires but no biggie. Should be no tire concern with short or long distances with the new tires based on tires themselves. Rest of the truck is up to you!
