This third time the engine started by was revving way too high. I waited a while to let the engine warm up, but it wouldn't stop. I decided to drive it hoping it would soon idle down. But instead, it just went dead. I was told later that the choke is stuck, and it flooded.
I have a 1979 F-100 with a new Holley 650 CFM 4 barrel, and a mechanic told me to press down a red "lever" on the left side to reduce the idle speed. I did that, but after pressing the accelerator, it sticks again. What is the cause of this, and what can I do to fix it?
Thanks
Is it an electric choke? If so, is it hooked up to power? You may also want to route one of the heater hoses next to the electric choke box, to keep it warm.
