I have a 92 Explorer 5 speed with 130000 miles. The automatic 4 wheel drive stopped engaging last Christmas Eve and hasn't come back. The 4 wheel high and low lights on the dash had been getting dimmer and it had been harder to engage the unit prior to that. Before I go to the shop and spend a fortune, does anyone have any suggestion?

 

The motor may be siezed up. Its fairly easy to replace if you want to give it a shot.
