The block is a 1981ish or later.
The crank is a 1965. In 1966 we went with a C6TE-6303-G.
The crank will fit the block with no modifications necessary. I've forgotten if the C5TE crank has the larger, later thrust bearing or the smaller '65-'66 thrust bearing. No matter.
Good score.
WHEW! Thanks. I was worried I screwed up. Got the block&head from a guy on craigslist for $50 and was able to find the crank from an old shop that use to do rebuilds for another $100 so I'm very happy at this point. Now I need to find some forged pistons, rods and an rv crank. Any ideas where I could get them?

If the block is a standard bore you got a good deal on it.
You stole the crank for $100!! I've seen the forged cranks sell for $400-$500. And seen some guys asking $700 for them! But they are getting harder to find.
